Waterrinoles, Best Weez Remembers
Now this page ain't for the weak or anyhow sissified, these is real bars serving real stuff, so you under-21's can just drool and dream, and you over-21's can wonder if that's what you really want from a night out.
The Rendezvous 2320 Second Avenue, Seattle
Arguably the second most potent drinks in Seattle. Big almost-brawl tonight. Tables knocked on end. Screams from the ladies. Not for the faint of heart. The daring play chess. Queen-mother Dodi serves 'em up right. She got rockers for her birthday and bought a vest the other day. Third Thursday blues jam with Harvey Wallbanger et cetera. All kindza live music, mostly on the weekends. Coincidentally right next door to the shop. The back door opens for the secret knock.
The Storeroom Tavern 605 Eastlake Avenue, Seattle
Chet has installed a lovely dozen taps, even with nitrogen for the stout. Now two nitrogenous brews. Our King Dave tends bar Thursdays 4-9, and treats the bicycle-friendly oh-so right. Port can be found here as well. A grueling uphill trudge on a chopper, bearable if you take Pike or walk it a block. Asteroids and Galaga, as well as many quarter pinballs. Pool and juke-tunes on an exquisitely stocked box can make a night. Joey's now the man again.
The Frontier Restaurant & Lounge 2203 First Avenue, Seattle
hey, that's what the white pages say, c'mon... more commonly known as the Frontier Room
This is the quintessential downhill test ride, speshly if you catch the light, survived by the new (to us) trike as well as taco-ing Tallbike-001's drive wheel, sad to see that one go. Broke a spoke in the rebuild, rrrr, went for a replacement. Tortuously bent axle, yikes. The strongest drinks in Seattle? Laugh at the piddly amount of mixer you receive in your well drink. A staunch reputation brings all the tourists by to get boozed up.
Shorty's 2222-3/4 2nd
An extremely viable test ride, uphill mildly and around the block. Arcadia for those who pose as grown-ups. Chopper John has had the greatest game of Donkey Kong in his life here. Dollar lucky stubbies, hot dogs galore, real beers in the back, yearly pinball challenges. Silverball capital of Belltown. You know 8 Ball Deluxe from the roller-rink, right?
Gibson's Restaurant 116 Stewart
Long-term mildly uphill test ride (5 blox?) good for deraileur testing. Our bishop came of age here in a wacky evening's activities. Tuesday night cheapass pints. Only one block south of Belltown's pinnacle, so make sure your brakes are still working before you get blasted and leave for the shop. Chess can be found here on infrequent occaision. Food too, more frequently.
Oh, those Coors girls give much love, and get to drink drinks while photogging and hobnobbing with the club while we drink in their longnecks. That one's got a beer for the picture! Are you sure they're not triplets? X's and O's our sweeties!!! |
The whiskey war will never be decided, but makes for inspired inebriated argument. The club presently leans far in the favor of Mr. Beam, but will always entertain discussion. Link if your Coke's tasting too sweet. |
