The Wall
and how we overcome it

-or-

Bicycle Jesus was
a Carpenter

-or-

Hammered?  Aw, screw it.

What's religion without good hard work?  Helping those that help themselves and all..
Shake your fist in defiance to the cold, wind, and rain.  Construct.

Mark 6:3 - “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What's this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles! Isn't this the carpenter?”

Corrugated Steel was chosen as our siding of choice.  We didn't wear matching outfits.

Revelations 21:18 - And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Well, we didn't have much of that stuff on hand, but Mark showed us to the stack of 2x4's and we were off.   Jeremy initiated a wall-building and ran a sweet first course of  framing across the vast chasm that separates roofed and open.

Now we didn't have much to go on, all of us not being born in the 50's heyday of corrugated siding, but there was some masonry-drilling and ladder-climbing and nail-gunning and power-screwing that just seemed to present itself given a vigorous bike ride on a crisp fall afternoon.  (Never discounting divine intervention!)  Oh, and no steel.

Nehemiah 4:6 - So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

We were working off of some hazy Apocalypse Now memories, yet opted against both stilts and stairs, preferring instead an easy roll-in below.  Staining of glass and wall tag still in the works.

no babies were irradiated to create this image.
Isaiah 41
5 The islands have seen it and fear; the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward;
6 each helps the other and says to his brother, "Be strong!"
7 The craftsman encourages the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer spurs on him who strikes the anvil.  He says of the welding, "It is good." He nails down the idol so it will not topple.

All Hail the power of the hammer!

Too bad the stencil has been reduced to so much wet cardboard these days.  There's a lot of stone around, and it's asking for it.

Habakkuk 2:11 - For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

Man, that shit's powerful...

Psalm 63:2
I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.

Psalm 66:3
Say to Bicycle God, "How awesome are your deeds!  So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you.

 more power to us all!

Isaiah 59:10 - We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
